Hello! I am a homo sapien named “Saurabh Totey” (or “सौरभ तोटे” or “トテ・ソウラブ”) that uses he/him pronouns. It is often simpler to refer to me as “S.T.”, but for those determined to learn how to pronounce my name, my instructions are to concatenate the words “dinosaur” and “rub” and then remove the “dino” prefix!
My principal interests are in theoretical quantum computing (algorithms/complexity) and in building software!
My fascination in quantum computing stems mainly from the desire to re-interpret natural processes as “computations” and then see what the various bounds and limits we can apply or impose based off of quantum complexity results. My background particularly is in open and many body systems, partition function estimation, thermal states, and bosonic systems.
As for software, I love thinking about how systems work, and software systems run the world! Reasoning logically about how to piece things together to create something great is always a fun challenge! I especially care about correctness, performance, and reliability, which are necessary for so-called “good” software!
